Mashika Methmini is a young Sri Lankan actress steadily carving her place in contemporary theatre. She has performed across a range of productions, both locally and internationally, following her early recognition as 3rd place Best Actress at the State Children’s Drama Festival in 2023.
She has appeared in numerous theatre works over the years, beginning with her performances at the Somalatha Subasinghe Playhouse in Magula and Offside in 2023. Since then, she has become an active member of the Stages Youth Ensemble, performing in Dear Children Sincerely and Vicious Circle in 2024, and Children of the Little Olive Park and Katawaha in 2025. Internationally, her work includes Dreams of Winder at the Kolkata International Theatre Festival with the Ceylon Art Theatre Club, Dear Children Sincerely at IFTOK in Kerala with Stages Theatre Group in March 2025, and representing both STG and Sri Lanka at the Asia Youth Theatre Festival’s Uniting Asia Residency in Hanoi in May 2025. She also recently guest-starred on Track Da?, a Sinhalese improv comedy show by So and So Theatre Company.
Mashika sees acting as an ever-evolving practice of dedication and discovery—an ongoing commitment to fully inhabiting her characters and honouring the stories they carry.
